A spokesman for the RIAA has said that DRM is on it's way out. Personally I want to show it the door and make sure that door is locked up tight. Now if EA Games can get it's aweful SecureROM out of it's games we'll be good to go. It only punishes those who buy games legaly. Link: http://torrentfreak.com/drm-is-dead-riaa-says-090719/ |

Well another study has been done on spam e-mail and who is opening this stuff. When it comes to identifying spam, two-thirds used the sender’s name as a gauge, followed by 45% who looked at subject lines and 22% who spot other “visual indicators.” About 3% relied on the time a message was sent to identify whether or not it’s legitimate. So what’s driving them to click on Cialis offers or fake Michael Jackson photos? About 17% said it was a mistake. Twelve percent were interested in the product or service, and 13% don’t know why they acted on the message. Six percent “wanted to see what would happen.” In addition, 12% of respondents who indicated they were “very” or “somewhat” experienced with Internet security opened spam before deleting it, compared with only 11% of respondents who called themselves inexperienced who did the same. Oh look, 13% are as dumb as bricks, and 6% like to walk on the wild side and experiment. And it seems that way too many people felt that their security software would stop harm from happening. Spam is easy to spot. When you hover your mouse over the link and it says it will open www.goodstuffhappens.com instead of www.ebay.com you KNOW you have spam, everything else should be easy to spot because of the sender, subject and/or content. Craziness. |

New nVidia BETA video drivers get new power management options. This new option will allow users to set a specific speed on an individual application basis. At this time only Geforce 9 series and higher are supported. It would be nice to see this feature made available to series 8 owners in the future. New in Release 190.38 - Adds support for OpenGL 3.1
- Adds support for CUDA 2.3 for improved performance in GPU Computing applications. See CUDA Zone for more details.
- Adds a new user-controlled power management setting for GeForce 9-series and later graphics cards. This option allows users to set a performance level for each DirectX or OpenGL application.
- Includes several new control panel features and numerous bug fixes. More information can be found in the release documentation.

First off there is some sad news for those who were looking forward to playing Alan Wake on PC. It seems Microsoft has decided to debuet the game only on Xbox 360. There is still a small possibility that a PC version will be released, but at a later date. Thank you for your continued interest in Alan Wake. It is accurate that we are currently working exclusively on the Xbox360 version of Alan Wake. PC plans are currently open, and therefore it’s safe to say that at least a simultaneous launch with the Xbox version will not happen at this late stage. Remedy has a deep heritage in PC gaming and would love to see a PC version available to its PC followers, ultimately however this decision lies with our publisher. LAME! Also Max Payne 3 has been announced by Rockstar. |
