 It is possible to install Windows 7 Upgrade on a new hard drive from the store or if it has been freshly formatted. Last week I went to upgrade my Windows XP Netbook and it wouldn't launch the disk from inside to OS. I then decided to try formatting the hard drive and installing the upgrade without first verifying my older copy of Windows. - Boot from the Windows 7 DVD.
- Once the disk has booted, choose Custom Installation.
- Format the hard drive and then start the installation of Windows 7.
- When you're asked for a product key in the setup menus leave the field blank and continue on.
- Once Windows is installed, run Windows Update until there are no more updates available (this may require a few restarts to get them all downloaded and installed).
- Now go to Start > Computer > System Properties.
- Enter your product key and activate Windows.
There you go, this way you don't have to have Windows installed on a hard drive in order to use the Upgrade version. Which reduces the hassle quite a bit. Microsoft has confirmed that as long as you own a previous version of Windows this is a LEGIT way of installing Windows 7! |

Fans of RPG games might want to check Torchlight out. The game will be released as a single player game, but later on there will be a MMO version as well.

Futuremark Studios, makers of the Futuremark benchmark tools, has announced it will be releasing it's first game sometime in the coming future. The game is an First Person Shooter (FPS) and takes place on the moon and in space. It is a 32 multi-player game which will pit Miners against Astronauts from the International Space Station. It's a simple premise, but the game play looks like it will be a lot of fun and might just be the next thing that FPS players are looking for. Microsoft has announced that it will allow users to download Windows 7 from their online store and then onto a USB key. This will allow netbook users to install Windows 7 without the need for an external CD-ROM drive. The offer is only available through the Microsoft Store. Another positive note is that there will not be a separate edition of Windows 7 for netbooks (Windows 7 Starter).
