So who has used it?

I've tried the 32 bit version for about a month, and then just this week switched to the 64 bit version. Not too much of a difference except the allowed maxium ram limitation of 32 bit.

I am Currently running it on my free, given to me, Acer 5112wlmi. It was given to me because of the defective lcd display, which I have rig'ed with duct tape on the loose ribbon cable attaching from the rear lcd circuit board to the actual display(not the cable from the motherboard to the lcd)

So far I have found 2 problems;
1.) neither Version would find/install the Realtek 8169/8110 Gigabit even when I get it off the realtek website and it is FOR that specific chipset and OS

2.) Also when using Media Center to play DVD's when ever I change from Windowed, to Full Screen or vice Versa, the DVD i am watching restarts from the begining of the disc.

This is so far. I haven't tried installing any games, but it seems ok.

ANYONE else have any issues or solutions?

I'm running Windows 7 RC right now and loving it. 64bit is the better one.

1. Most Vista drivers will work for Windows 7, since it's the same basic code base. I'm a little puzzled as to why it won't detect even with Win7 drivers, if that's what you mean. I've always had issues with the RealTek audio drivers. Maybe download the network driver from Acer's site or just another random site?

2. I haven't had that issue, but I haven't tried playing a DVD in the system yet. I'll give it a try and let you know what happens. Sounds like a video driver issue. Maybe ATI has Windows 7 drivers on their website now?

I downloaded 7 RC Last night. No blank DVDs to burn to. I'm worried about the compatibility of QuickBooks 2009 and its Database server system. This box is the server for my job...

Acer doesn't support 64 bit unless the computer is within a year old current, so no acer drivers for the network card for me.

The ATI drivers are the Windows update digitally signed ones. (8.561.0.0 by ATI) ATI currently doesn't have any laptop drivers that work for anything less than a 2000 seires. And usually you need the Mod Tool from driverheaven. Nvidia drivers are the same for laptops you need to get the inf modded usually by laptopvideo2go.com.

No ones made "hacked" drivers for your network card, that sucks. Maybe you'll just have to run 32bit.

Actually, nVidia now carries notebook graphic drivers on their website for 7,8,9,100,200 series cards.

Just disconnect your current HDD setup, plug in a spare one, install Win7 and then try QuickBooks out. There might be a Win 7 compatibility list somewhere online. I know there were a few floating around when Vista was released.

Actually!!! Oooh ooh, you could just run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. It should tell you.

32 bit windows 7 doesn't see the hardware as well. It's the OS not seeing the hardware wish is most of the problem i think.

I've looked for other drivers, it won't even accept a legacy manual install.
