Windows 7: Microsoft confirms that Windows 7 will be installable using USB key
Saturday, 24 October 2009 13:05

Microsoft has announced that it will allow users to download Windows 7 from their online store and then onto a USB key. This will allow netbook users to install Windows 7 without the need for an external CD-ROM drive. The offer is only available through the Microsoft Store.

Another positive note is that there will not be a separate edition of Windows 7 for netbooks (Windows 7 Starter). Microsoft has decided to let users and manufactures install whatever version of Windows 7 they wish.
